Angular contact ball bearings are widely used. They have fast speed and high precision. They are the core components of precision machinery. Due to their precision, angular contact ball bearings must be installed very carefully, otherwise it is easy to damage the precision, affect the use, and even cause premature failure of the bearings. So, how should angular contact ball bearings be installed?

Under normal circumstances, angular contact ball bearings are all interference fit. When the interference of the bearing is large, it is very difficult to install the bearing using a pressure device, and it is easy to damage the matching surface of the bearing. Therefore, angular contact ball bearings are basically not pressed. Hot installation is generally used to heat the inner ring of the bearing to expand it, and then the bearing can be easily installed on the spindle.

At present, magnetic induction heaters often use the heat load method to heat the inner ring of the bearing. The heating temperature of the bearing should not exceed 120℃. The specific heating temperature depends on the size and interference of the bearing.

Since the size of the outer ring of the bearing will also widen during the heating process of the bearing, it is easy to produce axial clearance with the shaft shoulder after the bearing cools down. After the bearing cools down, it will be in an interference fit state with the main shaft. Therefore, the thermal assembly method is adopted. When the bearing cools down, a nut or other suitable method should be used to eliminate the axial clearance between the bearing and the shaft shoulder.

When there is interference between the shaft and the bearing, the friction between the mating surfaces will be very large. When the interference is large, the mating surfaces may be damaged. If pressure oil is injected between the mating surfaces, the two mating parts will be slightly deformed. The pressure oil will penetrate into the mating surface and form a lubricating oil film, which can greatly reduce the friction between the mating surfaces. The two mating parts can slide relative to each other with less force. This method is suitable for both the installation of tapered fittings and the assembly and disassembly of cylindrical fittings.
